Minor bowing on unbraced 75, fix or not?

Hey Gang,

I'm getting a used 75 ready and on the test fill today, found that the middle bows out an eight of an inch when the tank is filled to the brim. (Actually started about 4 inches below that, but I don't think I'll run that water level. Heh.)

Anyways, the tank wasn't made with a center brace and I was wondering if anyone out there has run one of these without issues. It's 3/8" thick glass all around and was made Ocean View.

Search results and common sense dictate that I should at least put some sort of clamp on the tank, or ideally silicone in a clear brace from thick glass.

Any suggestions?

I say brace it... with a brace, your worst case is that you dont have 100% light in a very small space of the tank. without a brace, your worst case is complete loss of the entire system. Its a real quick and easy step to prevent a catastrophe...

put a brace on the tank. You can put a small glass one in place and not have to worry later on down the road. I hate to have all that water on the floor.
