micro-bubbles from skimmer help

I have an issue with micro-bubbles exiting my skimmer. I have tried both an NW150 and now a Tunze 9010. Same problem with tiny neutral boyant micro-bubbles. These bubbles are so small that they don't float. Needless to say the over-under-over baffles in my sump are no help.

The sump is 24x12 with a 9" water level. Flow through the sump is 200gph.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you could try a filter sock.

Well I am am using a 10 micron sock on the skimmer output. It really doesn't help. First the Tunze has bubbles exiting the bottom, which is a poor design .

However even with the NW150 the bubbles were so fine that they went right thru the 10 micron filter bag.

Welcome to TRT!!!

micro bubbles are always a bugger to get rid of. try raising and lowering the skimmer an inch or two in the sump and see if that helps.

What finally got rid of mine was placing a piece of live rock in the path between skimmer output and the return pump. It's not a very big piece, just big enough for the bubbles to hit it. They are deflected up and most reach the surface that way.
