MH bulb position


does it matter how my bulb is faceing horz. or vert. to the bulb. Will it be OK either way ?

They definitely should to be mounted horizontally.

And then, as far as if you mount them front to back or side to side, I have heard that mounting them horizontally front to back will actually utilize your lights power better on most standard tanks that are longer thant hey are wide.........of course I think the majority of peoples MH are NOT mounted this way, and instead mounted horizontally side to side.

If you are right , do the hanging pendents still go horz.
the reason im asking is I have a hole in the top of my canopy for heat to escape, but I also have a 175w rig I could hang thru the hole( already have) . I was thing about the pendents and thought thats the way they were , up and down. but I dont know.
BTW I just opended the hood door, 675w of lights I think im blind, feelt like looking into the sun.
