MH balast help

can anyone tell me what kind of bulb I can use with this balast? The tag is almost all gone from ballast but the bulb that it is currently running is a halarc R175 mxr175/bu. Thanks for any help

I don't know, but doing a reverse search on what you put up,this is what I found. MERCURY VAPOR

do you have the maunfacturer's name on the ballast?

It is a advance ballast i think. It says for 175watt metal halide

Well, it should power a 175 watt halide.

I don't want to say , Is it a MH for sure. If so it will be more then likely a mogul base bulb. No numbers. But i think you really need to try and fine a number or take it to a good lighting store and have them help maybe. You can get a cheap 175 watt bulb and try it for a while before you spend good money onthe better bulbs.

i will try to make out the #s on the ballast. The tag is about half missing
