metal hals

what's goin on guys and gals. first off, i havent been on in a while, im at work all the time now. i manage an aquarium store called tanks a lot in ocala, florida. we deal with both salt and fresh water. drop by if your driving through central florida. n e way, i need a bit of a suggestion. i just got a 400watt mh ( for free, one of the benifts for working with fish all day). its a 14k. that being said, i put the mh over my tank to see how it would look and its great. in my old hood, i had 2x65watt pc. seeing as how the mh is a 14k, would it make sence to put th pc's in the new hood and make them both actinic??? 14k is pretty blue n e way. what i might end up doing is switching the bulb for a 10k. im not to sure, for now im leaving the pc's on it. ill have picture on here shortly, but for now, im pic less. thank sfor any and all suggestions.

Depends on what you like. thinking that you will only need about 4 or 5 hours of 400 watt MH on a day, it would be nice to supp. with act... 2 maybe, or if you find things a little too blue, you can put a 10k in there also... Keep in mind "heat control"!

heat is not an issue; the canopy is really tall and the bubl sits about a foot and a half away from the surface. at the store i work at, we run mh for longer than 5 hours. i think we have the timers set for 7hrs
