Metal Halide Bulbs ?

Hi, I am currently running a Coralife 2 x 250watt MH + 2 x 96watt Actinic fixture with the stock 10,000k bulbs. I was reading a few things about when to change Metal Halide bulbs and some people say to change them ranging from 3 months to a year ?

I also would like to get a 14,000k bulb instead when i do replace them because i do want a more blue color. I was also wondering how much this would effect the growth of my corals ?

My main concern is that there's a lot of brands out there and these bulbs are pretty expensive so i want to get a very good quality bulb. I was reading about something called the PAR they give off and this is what the coral growth depends on. I want to get a good 14,000k bulb that is also going to give me that blue color i am looking for, and also not slow down my coral growth that much.

If anyone knows some of the best brands of 14,00k bulbs please let me know and or there Pro's/Con's ?

Thanks

I second the 250 watt Phoenix 14K as that is what I have over my 54 gallon tank. I know plenty of others on here that recommend it as well.

Hi, I went to my local fish store today and he told me he can do me the Phoenix 14k bulbs for $65 each. Is that a good price for them ?

Thanks

I hope you like those bulbs. I have heard nothing but good about them. I know a lot of people use them. I like my Current 14k bulbs. They have a lot of par for the color they give. Keep us updated.
