Yeah, actually I do know about that stuff. My local LFS runs it in their coral tanks and honestly I have never seen a more gorgeous tank. I may not trust their fish always but my lfs has a stunning coral tank. Having seen their filtration on other things I would have to say this stuff is the only reason why they don't have algae in that tank (excuse me the coral tanks is plural, they have two monster tanks for corals).

Personally, I like algae in my tanks for my algae blenny and other herbivores (I like watching them pick and choose) so I would never use the stuff but the people who HATE algae should check it out. Oh and it doesn't actually seem to affect coralline algae either. Of course, if you didn't let the nutrients build in the first place you wouldn't need it but who doesn't end up with nutrient issues at some time or other.
