I put it straight in my tank....I bought the 50lb box.......its got algae on it now.....but its slowly going away and starting to take on corals and corraline. I dont think theres really any phosphates in it......its completly dead..........I just rinsed mine off....threw it in and the fish love it and the corals are taking on nicely....up to you though.

i just rinsed mine off with water from the display in a bucket, then into the tank...however i was starting from scratch on the build. i didn't have any livestock in the tank. i did get a LOT of dust rinsed off them though.

I had live stock.....they did fine. Three fish.......no signs of stress at all. They eat a lot.....swim a lot...Just switched everything over. My sps were fine....I lost a birdsnest.....but it was already really really sick from me dosing a shot of vodka in my 29. (not a good idea by the way)
