marco polo rocks, dried coralline?
i bought some dry marco live(dead) rock and i was surprised that it had a ton of dried up very bright purple coralline on it.
since its been dried up for a long time whats the chance the coraline will come back to life again and spread??
or will it just melt away and is totally dead coraline and will never seed?
the rocks are totally dry and have no odor, but dang they look good

thnx
yeah i wasnt sure what i should do with them when i took them out of the box. they looked so clean and didnt have a smell so i figured ahh what the heck i'll just use them as is
im starting a new project, a 220 gallon bare bottom fish only tank
things will be alot slower going with this tank, so by the time i add a fish xmas might be rolling around

heres a pic. it was just setup a few days ago, im on temporary equipment at the moment. i got a lil ammonia spike yay! not much just .50 ppm
i messed up on the spec. gravity, its at 1.027 so i gotta lower that a bit.
im just gonna keep fish and inverts, no corals in this tank. not aggressive, some butterfly's, tangs, chromis etc.
its still naked so be kind to me

two 50# boxes
the peices are great. i swear they look live. that green one came all green allready, i think it used to be green coraline since it seems "baked" on.
theres alot of dark purple coraline splotches on most of them

Looks good so far. I've gone bare bottom on my 90 and I really like that style so far. Just make sure you get a BIG skimmer.

thank you, the rocks will be my pet for awhile
i spray painted carboard in this sand textured spray and placed it under the tank so the fish dont get that lost in space feeling
it does reflect alot of light so thats cool
