Mantis shrimp

For a couple of months, I've been hearing the occasional clicking. I wasn't sure whether it was a mantis shrimp. A couple of months ago I added a sea star which was half gone the morning after introduction. Shortly thereafter he was all gone. My suspicions have been confirmed. I saw a brown mantis shrimp about two inches long dart from one crevice to another. I have tried the coke bottle trick but he's too smart for me. Any suggestions?

You might have to pull the rock out that he's hiding in and dip it in some high salinity SW, or of its a small rock with nothing valuable on it you can pour soda water over it

1 liter bottle trick, stick some shrimp or silversides in there at night, then wait. he will go in, and you should be able to get the sob then!

Do they tend to have a particular spot in the tank? THe only time I've seen him, he was on the move. I tried some pippy flesh (bivalve) in a coke bottle but he didn't take the bait. What is their natural diet? Would live bait be the go? I can get small ghost shrimp in the canal near my place.
