Well, after about 4 months I finally caught the little guy, with the pop bottle technique. He was about 3 inches long and just starting to get his color. But being the good fish lover I didn't kill him and took him down to the LFS and they will sell him.
I had to starve the tank for about 5 days before he got hungry enough to get caught, and now no more clicking. It seems odd to not hear any clicking any more but I am sure I can get used to that.
