mangroves ?

ok i order 12 mangroves off ebay for my refug. they came in today and are awsome nice and healthy good roots. now my question is how many do i really need? is 12 to many? i have a 29 gallon tank with a ten gallon sump holding only about 5 gallon in it with a 10 gallon refug on the side for a total of about 45 gallon max. how many mangroves do you need per gallon or is there no set rule to this? if any one needs mangroves let me know i can get more or i'll give you the guys name that i got them from. thank you.

Here's a few links....sounds like they help but are slow at it (so you'll need a lot). I put a few in my refug this weekend, but I also have other macros.

they are a true plant. they use the nutrients from the tank to grow. what you need to be carefull of is keeping the leaves on the plants. if they get covered with salt to much they fall off. if to many fall off the plant will die. this is the mangroves way of living in the SW environment. you also need to remove the fallen leaves ASAP or they will start to decompose and release the locked in nutrients back into the system. you can prolly get away with all of them in the 10 for a little bit. the root structures grow pretty good though. you need to keep an eye on them so that they do not break the tank.

thank you very much for the info i would not want the tank to break that is for sure it set right next to my pc. here is a pic of what i have going so far. the tin foil is to keep the light in the tank more and out of my eyes and off the screen and the fack log in the overflow box is to keep the inside box down other words the tank overflows so i have a log to lower it until i get around to building some thing else.
