Mangrove tree

I have had a red mangrove tree (slip) for three months rubberbanded to a rock but nothing yet. It's under 456 watts.

Thinking of putting it in a small clay pot with dirt. This would be visable and really suck.

Was hoping the roots would grow down into the deep sandbed then confine them in a pot so as not to burst the aquarium.

I don't know crap concerning growing them. I just want it above a corner where I have seagrasses growing. Can really use help here.

i have found mangroves to be more trouble than they are worth. when in SW they need to have their leaves washed off daily or they leaves will die, leaving the mangrove with no way to get food.

i have seen not seen any mangroves breaking glass. they are extremely slow growers so it would take many years for them to get large enough to do this. i have kept some for 3-4 years in a jar without any risk of the jar breaking.

I have 4 RM on my main tank. 2 on each overflow, they have been there from day one the tank is going on 1yr 2months and they started out about 6 to 8 inchs now they are 12 inches and have 4 to 6 leaves. i like them but wish they would grow a little faster. there is a window behind the tank so they get plenty of natural light yet they still grow slow

Double standards in my opinion and my membership here looks tarnished now since its on every post for a year.
