Wow...way to much.....

Get a 20 gallon L tank or as long as you can fit. Put and under over under baffles design.

That is it.

The over baffle will determine how how the water level in the first compartment will be. this is where your skimmer will sit and your overflow will empty into. the second half will have your return pump and heater.

No need for a refugium. (don't take personally) I don't think you really know what they are for anyway. Only one who really really knows why they want one should bother keeping them.

[quoteA refugium is a refuge for sall critters who are normally hunted in our display to reproduce without being eaten. Many refugiums contain various macro algaes with chaetomorpha and green grape caulphera seeming to be the most popular.
Refugiums provide a place for the pod population to boom, and a place to grow macro alages which help remove nitrates, and even toic metals. The macro is easily harvested (just pull out a handful).

The other advantage to a refugium is the ability to light it on an inverse cycle to the tank so you can keep your PH stable so it does not swing with the light cycle.[/quote]

when i was told to have one.. i asked what was the purpose..this is what i was told.. and yes i do understand the purpose.

i'd put the baffles right after the skimmer, get rid of the bubbles first.

why does it seem like you are mad that i am doing a refugium??
i was just doing what i was told is best for seahorses and mandarins
i have already measured it all out.. everything will fit.. the tank is already under my stand and the skimmer is in it.

So why are you asking the question about the sumpthen????

All I started saying was I didn't think you would need it. You said you did. Then I just wanted to be sure you were aware of the upkeep of these.

They have great use in SW, just not always necassary.
If you know what you are doing , do a fudge!

I just have seen you have been asking a ton of "more basic" (nothing wrong with that) questions as this is your first go at SW.

Sorry to upset you.
