magnetic glass cleaners
So what kind do you have? I looked on ebay but there are sooo many and I don't know if some are better than others? I have a dinky little thing, about 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" and almost every time I use it it will lose the connection and the scrubber will fall into the tank... argh! Go get a towel and fish it out... I saw one at the lfs that was white and all of 4" long, and they just left it in a top corner of the tank. I've always removed mine when I didn't use it.
So tell me what you use and what I should look for! I've seen floating ones too... thanks!

I also use mag-float. The magnet seems pretty stong, but when on occasion I do loose it, the scrubber floats up to the top and I can always get it with the other magnet without reaching into the tank or anything. Works great!

Yep, as everyone else has suggested, you can't go wrong with the MagFloat. I'll even admit that I have 3 of them in my tank, 1 on every side but the back so I don't have to mess with moving it from side to side....talk about lazy!

Well, let me tell you. I got a pair from Saltycritter. First thing you need to know is the thickness of you glass. The set that I got was like $70.00
It comes with a warning. Make sure you do not get your fingers between these magnets.
If you should accidently get the magnets stuck together, don't bother trying to separate them, send them back to the company they will separate and send back.
Total overkill, still doesn't take off all of the green stuff, really just the stuff that grows daily. However, you never lose the connection. I can bearly move these suckers around. BUT, what is really cool.
The one on the inside has like a velcro type material on it. It is home to a colony of Cocopods.

I have every size of magfloat on different tanks, but I also have a Nimble: http://www.nimblenano.com/default.htm that wil get into the tightest corners of a nano, only down is it doesn't float, but the magnets are powerful enough that it doesn't come off anyway. Cool little cleaner.

I got a Hammerhead for my birthday, but don't use it anymore. A razor blade and elbow grease once a week is all that I use anymore.

I'm with Perry on the razor blade. I got one from my LFS that has a little clamp that holds it to the end of a long rod about 24 inches long. I just replace the razor with double sided shaving razors from wall mart 8 pack for $1.50. Stainless steel, too. It takes off everything even coraline with no problems. No elbow grease involved.

Oh, and for you acrylic guys out there it has a hard plastic piece, too, instead of the razor. it doesn't work as well but it still works better than a set of $50 magnets. Only cost me about 4 bucks.
