They're great. I've used them for a long time with my glass tank.

depending on the sand you have, some stuck in the velco wont make any noticable scratches. they are fine to use, that velco alone wont harm anything. GO FOR IT!!

yeah I love mine. I have super fine sand that gets stuck on there all the time, doesn't scratch the glass but helps get the coraline loose!

Me too....BUT.....i have learned to only try to get the mild stuff and not to go within 5" of the sand with it.

lol, that fine sand looks really wierd piled up on one side of my tank too. btw, the jawfish loved the spagetti worm that tried to crawl down his hole.

Good snack I guess! Yeah my diamond loves to dig them up, but believe me there are more of them than he'll ever eat! You get at least one to bury itself and it will reproduce like crazy! It'll mix in with your's soon enough and you won't notice it.

If anything is collected on the surface, you need more surface agitation. Whether you achieve it with lots of overall tank flow, or by simply aiming a poerhead at the durface you need to do so or the film will interfere with gas exchange.
