mag 5 pump

i want to use a mag 5 pump as the return for my sump. i have heard alot of good about the mag pumps from you all. since they are magnetically powered and low wattage do i not really have to worry about it heating my water in my system to much?

Mag pumps are workhorses but I wouldn't call them low wattage. There will be some added heat from the 55 watts that the pump pulls.

I use a Mag 5 as the throughput pump for the CR6 for my display (total 250 USG system). I can say that it has not driven tank temps up, but then again, the heat fromi 55 watts for such a pump is literally a drop in the bucket for a system that is evaporating 4.5 USG a day...
