Made a BooBoo

So i was adding Kent Marine Purple tech to my sump and insted of adding 2 tsp my cap came off and I would say 1/4 of the 17.4 oz went into my sump. Now my calcium is over 1000ppm. what do I do???? I dont have any corals yet, but I was going to get some tomorrow.... Is this still ok? How do I get it down? I bought this stuff to help grow my Purple Coralline and Green Calcareous Algae.... Any help would be great.

Water change! As large as you can do.

I'm not familiar with the Kent Marine Purple Tech, but if it is just to increase coraline, don't bother. You will have more than you know what to do with in no time.

Do the water changes to get the Ca number down. Hold off on adding anything else, corals, fish, etc., until the number is down.

Way to go! How did you pull that one off? Did you pick me up anything while you were at That Fish Place? What all else did you get bro?

I wouldn't do a water change, just hold off on getting corals until it gets under 500ppm. It shouldn't take too long for the concentrations to go down, unless you have an enormous amount of Mg in the water.

I wouldn't be too freaked, any excess calcium will prolly precipitate out, depending on temp, alk,pH and a few other variables SW can only hold so much calcium in solution IIRC
