Question

LR cycle after cooking?

just a thought.... will you get a cycle after cooking live rock? My assumption is no considering there is no dieoff and the bacteria is still present.

What are your thoughts on the topic?

there should not be a cycle due to the die-off on the LR. the bacteria may not be in an abundance needed to support a decent bioload, but the bacteria needed are already there.

I had the same thought about the bacteria vs bioload... I would imagine that most of what remains on/in the rock would be fairly minimal.

Anyone know anything about how fast/slow our bacterial friends multiply?

The bacteria actually grow faster in the dark so you should be fine.

well the plan is to put the rock back in action... All of the the corals and one fish are in the QT tank. My concern I guess is whether or not "something" will happen chemically.
