Lps, Sps Corals

Hi guys, sorry I was not able to read the replies of my previous question. I want to know what is LPS corals and SPS corals? What does the abbreviation stands for?

Large polyp stonies
Small polyp stonies

They are both hard corals. Ther terms sps and lps are hobby terms only nothing scientific. for example acros are sps. Hammer/frogspawn are lps
