LPS Requirements

I'm setting up my first reef tank and would like to go towards LPS corals. I've got a 55 gal tank with 54 lbs Live Rock and 50 lbs sand. My lighting is a 240 watt Corallife CF. I've got a 15 gal sump with a Ventura skimmer. Is this sufficient to establish LPS? Are there other specific requirements beyond lighting. Thanks

sounds good to me. Just make sure you have good water flow. I like the hydor flo attachment for wavelike motion. Oh, and I hope you have a heater in there somewhere.

You might want to give thought to a second heater. They have been know to fail at the worst time, like when your away for the weekend or something. A 100 should do it set a degree or two below, it's cheap insurance.

Sounds good. I would probably add around 1000GPH+ (4 resonably sized PH's, or a CLS) total water flow for some nice tentacle sway, and of course coral respiration.

Most definately you will have to post pics of your corals.
