Using tweezers and a turkey baster to remove amphipods and bristleworms from the caulerpa you are about to place in the garbage.
Anyone else have one?

Staying up all night and day moving everything, then driving 250 miles to Thansgiving dinner, because the reef needed a bigger tank

Frantically searching for missing chromis. You have five but only see four. ( found'em)

Plucking hair algae by hand (and suffering from bristleworm burns because of it) every other day-a process that usually takes me 3 to 4 hours, siphoning the algae off the sand, and THEN using tweezers and a spoon to rescue as many pods and worms as possible.

Buying expensive green water and lots of other additives that I have no clue if they are really helping.
Pulling out feather calurpa every couple days so it doesn't crowd the corals.
Mixing Kalkwasser twice a day.
Checking the temp. everynight and everymorning.
Looking close at each fish for any signs of ich.

Driving 500 miles into anoher state to get multiple types of premium fully cure live rock. Transporting it back in cooler submerged in water so it does not go foul. Or driving 450 miles round tip around the state to find the best lfs in michigan .
Twice weekly watechanges instead of one big one because it keeps the water quality better.
1000'sof dollars to keep them happy and healty.

Doug1, I don't feed the worms anymore, that was about 2yrs ago. Scooter was my first sw fish, recommended to me as a 'super algea -eater' by the lfs. I soon realized the error, but, was unable to get back to town for a couple weeks to get him some proper food, so I fed him worms from a culture started originally for fw fish. I still have Scooter and he eats the pods/worms in the tank along with frozen brine every other day.

2nd attempt at adding cleaner shrimp months and months ago...
Cooking dinner for your date at home (burning it in the process of running to check temp and salinity of the holding container), while babysitting the shrimp you just purchased and acclimating them for 6 hours becuase the last batch went into convulsions and the ugly summersault of death instead of going out for a nice night on the town.
ps... she wasn't too pleased but the shrimp lasted longer than she did.
And no.. i didn't feed her to the tank to feed the clean up crew!
