Lots of small bubbles on top of water

There's also some dust there. It's on a nano, so I don't have a skimmer. Any idea how to get rid of them? I have tried removing them with a spoon, but that didn't seem to work.

sounds like a nutrients build up that is stuck on the top of the water. try to get some circulation breaking the surface of the water or it can cause some problems and a water change probably wouldnt hurt. try getting as much of the top crud off as possible though.
and then of course I could be wrong but thats my best guess ;-Þ

I doubt it, it's just plain RO/DI water

I increased the PH output and it is stirring up the sand, but seems to be getting rid of some of the bubbles

strange that it showed up after the drip it may have collected the nutrients somehow. but really I dont have a clue but I do know if you have bubbles on the water surface you need more surface aggitation maybe someone else will have idea on what would cause it tpo show up after a drip.

how nano are we talking? are we pushing the pico range here.
i am inclined to believe it is excess nutrients. i think you need to start exporting it out. skimmer are the normal way. this is what those overflows do, grab the gunk off of the top of the water.

Yup! I had the film covering on the top of the water and my Remora Pro Hang-on would not clear it up as the pump was about 5" below the water line.

Solution: I bought an overflow box and the water enters through the top and down to the pump and no more film on the water!

2 gallons

I increased the output of the PH and pointed the PH more upwards. No more bubbles!
