Our
Red Sea Sailfin tang has crossed over....
He was with us for several years, is in my avatar, and was a lovely fish in every respect.
For a few weeks he'd been hanging around behind the rocks, never swimming in front, we didn't see him eat, but he didn't look thin. He looked fine, but we knew he wasn't well by his behavior. It was like he picked up his blanket and walked off into the woods.... the way I'd prefer to go someday... I could see him through the tunnel of rock through the side of the tank, about an inch off the bottom, upright and waiting... peacefully waiting. And then he was gone. not a sign left. We figure our starfish, also several years old, took care of him once he was done here.

He is missed daily.
Just thought I'd let you all know. I don't know how old he was; he was not that small when we got him from Aquarium World in Lafayette. We got him in 2000 or 2001 I believe... after the tiger tail sea cucumber went through the external pump, sending chemical toxins into the tank that killed all but three of our fish, including our first
Red Sea Sailfin.
This is him, taken early 2005
