I have developed 5 or 6 golf ball sized tufts of what I think is Bryopsis in my display tank. I'm not sure why they are appearing now. Tank has been set up for almost exactly a year, all nutrients in the water column (nitrogenous and phosphates) test zero. I have been trying to do manual removal, but it keeps coming back. I have a diadema urchin, but it doesn't seem to touch it, nor do the various snails or hermits I have.
I'm considering a rabbitfish and/or Elysia sea slugs (lettuce nudibranchs). Anybody out there have any experience with these, and their effectiveness in controlling Bryopsis?
