Email Jason and tell him what you have in mind for the tank. He should be able to find out 15 lbs that will give you the effect you are looking for

Question

I heard the Premium Aquatics get their LR directly from Harbor Aquatics.

Um, thats news to me, if they do its not the RAW plant rock. Probably what they do is buy a large shipment through Harbor which acts as the middleman in the deal and then the rock is transshipped to premium aquatics directly, that way Premium does not have to put a large sum of money as a depository directly when dealing with Walt(which I think is like $10,000 or so). In either case its well know that for Pacific Figi rock the 2 best in the business hands down are Paragonsales and Harbor, deal with em directly if you want to be garenteed the best. But all the other rock from places like Premium, customaquatic, marine depot, jeff exotic, FFexpress, etc get the cheap "premiumfigi" which only costs them pennies on the pound from walt smith to buy.

Before you get the premium check out www.oceanencounter.com they have a sale on the Walt Smith Aquaculture rock something like $179 for a 45lb box. I have been getting alot of stuff from them lately and I have been very happy with everything!

You can do one better with Harbor Aquatics or Paragonsales, They sell the RAW PLANT rock for $120 for a 45 lb box, which is the best rock available, it is uncured so keep that in mind.

I would stay away from Premium Aquatics live rock, it isnt all that great, the "premium figi" rock they sell is basically Walt Smiths(the distributor)cheapest stuff. If you want REAL LIVE ROCK that is loaded with all the life you could handle, a couple of better choices would be www.paragonsales.com or www.harboraquatics.com these 2 places get Walt Smiths Live RAW PLANT ROCK, which is the stuff that is picked and then directly packed and shipped to their stores, this stuff is loaded with every macroalgae available, plenty of critters, tons of encrusting corals etc. All the other stuff that is called "premium figi" is the garbage that sits in the spraybar booths for weeks where much of the life is lost. Take it from someone who knows.

Cheers!
