Live Food

Today I got my order from Florida Aqua Farms. I had ordered their starter pack and the 2 sided culture system. I was curious to see how many of you out there grow your own macroalgae or zooplankton, also where you go for supplies.

I find it hard to believe that no one grows their own food, so I am going to bump this back up to the top.

I've found the volume needed to raise live food like brine shrimp is not worth the hassle

pods and stuff like that grow in my fuge, but I don't really try to raise them

I grow macro for pods and to feed my triggers. I also grow brine shrimp and do have green water for Future Rotifers . Alot of work, I can see why alot of people don't do it.

I have an algae biotope so that I have enough food for my lawnmower blenny, a future mandarin and maybe a onespot foxface. So I guess you could call that culturing macros and pods for my critters. I also have a fuge thats over half the size of main tank to act as a backup to the main.

Best source I have found for macros is really alive live rock. If a coral has survived on it, then every kind of algae can grow on it and probably hitched a ride.

As to the pods, never had to buy them, they always were plentiful enough on their own.
