Live Aquaria
Is liveaquaria.com a good resource to buy livestock from? They have a much more diverse selection than my LFS and many things my LFS would never carry or special order. Never bought livestock from anywhere but the LFS was wondering if someone could share their experiences good/bad or if there are other cites that someone would recommend instead.

one of the best, I'd highly recommend them. I havent bought any livestock from a LFS with a few exceptions, I like liveaquaria and bluezooaquatics.

Most of Liveaquaria.com stuff is shipped to you straight from a very large wholesaler. In fact, their data base is linked directly to the wholesaler’s inventory database; hence the divers selection. You’re basically buying directly from a wholesaler with LA.com acting as the middle man that makes the deal. Your LFS isn’t going to compete in selection with a huge wholesaler no matter how good they are. If price is good enough to buy sight unseen I say go for it.

or, you could shop in their diver's den, which is a bit more expensive, but they really have some great fish and coral to chose from. well worth it in my experience. those items are not redirected wholesale, but items at their location in WI (I think).

You are correct.
My wife's family cabin is 45 minutes away from there I just found out. Looks like someone is going to be a lot more excited to visit the inlaws

I buy all my livestock from my LFS. It's about half the price of the DD, but I don't get a 14 day guarantee. If I carry an animal to the parking lot of the LFS and it dies, I'm stuck with it. I think I will be buying some animals from the DD in the future. Especially very delicate species.

I've ordered from there a time or two (over 100 fish, numerous corals, plants and inverts). Great service, great selections! Could not recommend them higher

It might be closer to 200, but I didn't want to embellish
I ordered a shoal of rasboras for my old planted tank. I think it was 75 if recall correctly...

I got a few critters and fish and corals from Live Aquaria. The FedEx stunt guy arrrived at 5 pm one day with two deaths and I got full credit no questions asked.
We got a few corals from Divers Den and they looked better from the photos.
I was a little apprehensive because I thought they were a big old retailer and the quality might suffer but the Divers Den stuff was just incredible.
We have a zoo rock and one last piece to finish out our nano this week.

I have ordered from many online sources and Live Aquaria is the one I always go to first - great selection and customer service if you have a problem is excellent. Best 'all-around' for sure. esp. the Divers Den ...drool...
