Are they 1/4 or 1/2 inch long, with a real thin black line down the middle of them?

Do they branch out? I have a similar situation on my glass...I just figured it was an algae of some sort.

yeah, for the most part they are little red threads that move around, but on a few i can see a bigger "body type thing" where all the little ones are branching out from

I have seen them white and red. They are reef safe, but the fish will eat them.
Mine would get a couple inches long, than the fish would eat them.

I am not sure if that is what I have or not...I have not seen the tentacles at all...
Mine is more like a vein....that seems to grow on the glass. It does branch out, but not necessarily from the end of the vein. It is pretty cool, but it just goes away when I clean my glass with my magnet.

Ah, yes, the tank must be fairly new, I got some of those the second month my tank was setup, they look like blood running upthe glass, and it fans out. If thats what it is it will go away as the tank establishes more. If in fact your tank is only a few months old.
