Little help here, friends

Please advise what you use to plug up the holes at the top of the towers. I have lost about three fish in them, captured two by way of siphon. And my cucumber is obsessed with getting in there.
I tried "gutter guard" from home depot , but this makes it more dangerous, as now the fish get stuck in it instead of just going through.
My next thought was pantyhose, Im just to embarressed to go but them. (plus I dont know my size, Just kidding,I know my size ha,ha}
Any ideas??

Pantyhose sounds good. You also might want to use some mesh out of one of those bags that you buy to put carbon in. Some of that around a tube with a tie wrap to hold it on might help you.

i use hose all the time for various problems. mainly for carbon, but have used it for what you are saying before. the problem with using hose for this is that it gets clogged pretty quickly. it will need to be checked daily for buildup so that the tank does not flood over.
