quit feeding it goldfish or other food with disease and little food value and it will go away on its own

just a hunch.

If Im wrong.......there is some stuff you can use to help. I used to have a couple lions as well and they would get fin rot whenever I would be lazy and feed it bad food or not be able to find good food

Most fin rot i have seen was caused by fungus. I am not sure erythomyacin is the target cure but i would look into fungus a little more.

I think it comes back to nutrition, what are you feeding it?

I agree with Doug! If your only feeding goldfish that's what's happing .You need some food that's good fore him!I use to feed him glass shrimp Freeze dried shrimp soaked with vitamins, galicguard would be good too.

A picture would help.

Fin rot is typically associated with a bacterial problem (fungus is very rare in SW) .. often will clear up on its own depending on the fish's immune system. Good food and good water quality may help bolster the fish's immune system.

If the fish's condition deteriorates or does not improve you should consider QTing & using ... maracyn 2 (Minocycline). Erythromycin (maracyn) is not a very good antibiotic for SW applications.

Hope this helps.

Selcon!! it supplies a lot of stuff that missing in prepared foods. Goldfish are lacking in several amino acids and such that are found in marine based food fishes, also theres a slight chance of introducing FW bacteria that marine fish have no immunity to.
Have you checked your nitrates, often N levels creep up in predator swim tanks and may exacerbate an underlying issue
