lindsey's 10 gallon tank build

so i guess this is a little late since my tank has been running for almost two months, but here goes anyway...

so i decided to finally take the next step in fish keeping... a nano reef tank. i have done several different freshwater setups and one brackish setup with amazing success and have wanted to get into saltwater reefing for the last two years, so two months ago, i decided to take the plunge...

i want my tank to be as natural as possible so the less amount of artificial filtration the better... i am running with only a heater, lights, and one powerhead. of course i also have 12 lbs of live rock and 10 lbs of live sand and am doing 10% water changes every week. i went through a mini cycle and everything is perfect so far.

(it would help if someone would tell me how to post pics )

you can post pics by either getting over 20 posts or click the "go advanced" button and using them as attachments.

You have enough posts now.

If you have the pictures hosted on another site, like Photobucket, then you can use the picture icon above and paste the link to the picture in there.

A better option is to go to your gallery and upload pictures from your computer. That way they will always be stored on this site. Then you can view the large version of your picture, copy the BB Code, and paste that into your post.

Looks like some good rubble pieces on the bottom for gluing frags to.

those were actually some extra dead live rock rubble pieces i picked up while in san francisco... i just threw them in there for that exact purpose... lol

that pic was taken about a month ago... there's a lot more color to it now, the coraline has started to grow and i have an aray of hitchhikers... feather dusters, bristle worms, sponges, and sea squirts, that are multipllying by the hundreds all over the tank.

also my clam, alexander clam bell, has grown probably half an inch since this picture was taken.

it could be a species of scallop or something, does it react to shading?

Just an average bi-valve (mulisk). Most don't survive too long in an aquarium, but I had a few that made it over a year or so.
