Lighting upgrade?

I currently drive (4) 48" vho/no tubes(with IceCap 660 ballast) over my 90gal reef tank w/ leathers, shrooms, polyps. I have ok growth but know I could be doing better and I may get some stonies one day.
Is this fixture ok in terms of ballast/bulb quality and performance?

If you want to get into stonies at one point I would not go with 150W MH on a 90G tank, I would get 2*250W plus supps. A 90 gallon tank is 24 inches deep about and you will not get light down to the bottom.

If I lost the stonies idea, then this would probably be ok? I considered going w/ T5 bulbs instead but if I am going to make a change, I would want to do it right the first time. I don't want to buy a skilter-esque product

Eeh, I mean if you had a 4 foot 50, or even a 75 maybe but a 90? I don't even know dude.

Here is the way I look at it:

You can go to hellolights.com and pickup 2 250 retros for about $110 each, spider reflector, electronic ARO ballast, and a XM 10K bulb runs $65. THat is about $350.

Then hitup ReefGeek, for a SLS 2*54W T5 on the SLS reflector, around $200

Total $550

Jam it all in a hood and you have a system with about triple the PAR for $100 less.

Let me be clear, I am not saying what you suggest is a bad product in any way! It is quality and well built, but I don't think it is right for you.

it is the depth of the tank that Whiskey is worried about.
