Lighting Problem

HELP
I Have a 2-400W PFO Pulse Ballast with 2 400w Ushio bulbs that has been running for about a year 12 hours a day.......running fine until today
Today the one side is yellow looking,i changed the bulbs and the bulbs are fine.....it has to be the ballast,Is there anything i can do?
It seems to be getting hot,and smells a bit
My tank needs the light
Right now i just have the one side 400w on

how DIY are you? the ballasts in those things are pretty straight forward. a little planning and you can be up and running in a day. a day without light will not harm the tank at all. think about a stormy day on the reef.

is it under warranty still? if not than after lights go out and the ballast cools. take the ballast box apart. in there you will find one ballast per side. take the side out that is not behaving properly. prolly just some screws and a couple of wire nuts. do not know for sure, but this is the norm. take this ballast to any lighting store. they will be able to hook you up with a replacement. it will prolly be around $75 for a new ballast. take it home reverse the procedure than test.
