Lighting help

well im only about a month or two away from setting up my new 40 gallon reef and i am so lost on lighting choices its not even funny..
i think that this is what i should get;

keep in mind i want to have an anemone, a clam(s), and mainly hard corals....

is this the right choice?? if not should i look into another kind of light?
if this isnt would it be possible to cheaply DIY metal halides?

some guidance would be greatly appreciated as i am completely lost and confused..

if that choice is acceptable....what option should i go for?
or just not do any of the choices and purchase the bulbs seperately? lol im confused

You probably should go with a nice MH setup supplemented with T5HO. It looks like the setup you are looking at is only T5 not even T5HO. For anemones, clams, and hard corals I don't think T5HO would be enough lighting. MH can be very expensive, but also would be necessary to keep your desired reef creatures.

A small tank like this,you should also think about a chiller with Mh.

If i do MH do u guys now of any cheap places where i can get a 3' long light for cheap.. or get parts for a DIY? u see im a high school student without a job so i really dont got a cash flow.. lol.

also i dont need moon lights. i got a cheap fix for that.. i just need the light and fixture

Take this from a college student, this hobby isnt cheap, BUY USED. thats your best option. Keep you eyes on craigslist. You will see a deal of a century, trust me. I bought my tank stand canopy wetdry pump heater and skimmer for 50 bucks.........Mind you I sold and gave away everything but the tank stand and canopy......but I sold the wet dry for 50.....so it basically ended up being FREE. Keep your eyes open and be patient.
