I have had a 75G FOWLR for some time & just upgraded to a 90G with a 22.5 gallon sump. I have sapprox 50 lbs of LR in it now & will be adding another 40 - 50 lbs within the next week. I'm still debating the skimmer, but will also have that figured out within the week....I hope.....
I know I want to keep
soft corals, & I would love to keep clams. I don't know much about SPS yet, but I suspect I'll want that too & I don't want to equip this tank with lights now that won't be good enough down the road.
With that in mind I've decided to go with 2 400W Metal Halides. I am trying to figure out what kind of bulbs to go with. I've seen some 6500's that were way too yellow. Didn't like that look at all. Also don't want to go too blue & lose intensity so I'm leaning towards 10,000K's. But what brand?? I know they all have their difference pluses & minuses. Sorry this is longwinded, but Any thoughts or opinions on any of this would be appreciated.
