Lighting a 29" deep LPS tank

I'm very close to ordering a new tank....215RR.

I'd prefer a pre-built unit, and I'd prefer not to go with MH's this time. I've been looking at the Solaris units - but I'm a little worried about their longevity. I could live with the price if I knew for a fact that the unit, and the LED's, would last the advertised 50,000 hours. By my calculations - that would be 13 to 14 years of MH & PC savings...along with the 30% reduction in electricity costs.

My latest interest has been the 72" Current USA Nova Extreme Pro. Does anyone have experience with these units? Are they sufficient for a LPS dominant tank at 29" deep?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

I dont' know much about fixtures for T5 lighting, but I do know that it is the individual reflectors that make the T5's an excellent option. When they don't have teh individual reflectors I think they are only slightly better than pc's... but the bulbs still last longer.

I would look for a unit with individual reflectors and a way of cooling the bulbs. THey last far longer this way.

I have a 36 inch fixture on a 50 gal tank. 2x175 watt mh. it has 2 large fans on it. My tank stays steady at about 81 which is perfectly ok. I paid about half for this fixture than you plan on paying for your t5 setup. if I were to run a t5 setup it would be a tek fixture from sunlight supply
