Light Intensity Question
How much light insenity would it take for frags and anenomies to stay healthy in a 65 gallon? I have 2 - 150w MH's now would that be enough? I want to know before I purchase them. Thanks all!!

Is this a 3 foot 65? I think if you have the high light stuff up high, and your replacing your bulbs on time you should be just fine.

Wait?!? 3 foot tall? I was asking if it was 3 foot long. Anyway,.. keep them up high, and the bulbs down low and you should be fine.

3 foot tall? I would go with a higher wattage bulb if it is 3 foot tall.

I was just getting ready to ask a lighting Q: if you dont mind I will ride on yours . And BTW I also have a 65 gal. reef and I had 175x2 @15k I felt that
the bulbs were too blue and not powerful enought. I had just added a clam last weekend and it seemed fine I just wanted more power. Which brings me to my Q: I just upgraded from the 2x175@ 15k too hamilton 2x250 @14k
but it just does not seem to be much more light, is that normal ? I expected
a big difference. also just added my first sps thats why I wanted more light was for them.
Thanks.
David

with a 3' tall tank, I would go with 400w lights ... 250w BARE minimum for clams AND to be able to keep anything anywhere. this is just MY opinion, but i hope it helps.

a lot of the extra light is penetrating the water deeper than the 175w bulbs were. that is where the extra light is going.
