Question

Life Reef Products

Can anyone who has used there products give me some feedback. I am in the process of planning a new tank and I am considering an LF-1 Berlin system with a built in refugium. Thanks.

i have purchased 2 LF-125 and 2 VS-2 24" skimmers from jeff at lifereef. The systems are so well made it isnt even funny. The construction is so perfect and clean on his designs. The options of things you can do with his sump and skimmers is second to none. I have one compliant about jeff. He is so over run with orders you usually need to wait a little while till you see what you order, but the wait is worth it. I recomend you purchase all the options to the LF including the canisters as well as the manifold with the check valve. If your using his in sump skimmer design ask him about doing the sump in blk acrylic to avoid algea growing were you dont want it too. Otherwise I will only purchase jeffs sumps and skimmers from this point. If that is any help to ya. Good luck and happy reefing

Question

Mr.Mike- I have a 24 in. Lifereef skimmer attached to a lf-125. I was wondering if you found it hard to tune the skimmer? I have a hard time getting anything but a very wet foam from it.-Creek

No i have no problem tuning my skimmer. What size pump are you using? What size tank is it? When was the last time you cleaned the venturi? I had the system running a 55 and skimate was not liquidy. I do have to admit i did play with both ball valves to get it that way, but once i did nothing really wet ever came out. I tried both lowering the input as well as the output. Yo really need to play around with it initialy. i was filling a cup a day when it was set-up. I am sure you know if you have any concerns feel free to email jeff's maybe he can offer more wisdom
