LFS in the RTP area

Any North Carolina members out there know of any LFS in the RTP area. I only know of one in Raliegh called Fish World. They are great if you like $560 golden morays or damsels. They are a little schitzo for my tastes. I also do not like the way they take care of their coral tanks. Are there any others? The phone book is not any help. Heck I would also be willing to drive to Charlotte. I used drive up from Atlanta to a place in Charlotte called Ocean Paradise, but I have not been able to get in touch with them in over a year.

Thanks,

G~

Right down the street from Ocean paradise is a little place called High Tide (in Pineville, actually), Tommy runs the place like it is his own little display, has props, supports aquacultured stuff and does sponsor events (like the Charlotte club and The NC Frag group meetings), and is very knowledgable about reef keeping in general. The shop is only reef, a few fish, mostly corals. I believe Ocean Paradise has gone out of business, not absolutely sure on that.

Fintastic has a nice selection of fish and corals, it is on South Blvd in Charlo6tte. Folks there are a bit snotty, and getting someone to pull out a specimen is touchy at best. btw, don't mention that you surf the net for info, they will tell you how bad the internet is for quack info... ... Go figure, I guess the truth hurts.

One nice shop in Raleigh, but I don't remember the name, I'll dig through my stuff and find it.

One really great shop in Greensboro, but the guys there are hit or miss on having a good selection Marine Ecoystems near the Univerity section, Rich and Chris run the shop, Great guys and a great shop. THE place in that area to buy Live rock, and a great price and selection of the unusual when they get the stuff in. Prolly best to cll before making a trip.

I can't believe there isn't one other shop besides the Place I am thinking of in Raleigh, but I will follow up on that.

I was in Raleigh-Durham about 2 months ago on business. I visited several LFS's, but the only one that comes to mind is Fish World. I liked the place. Friendly staff and I thought the tanks looked great. Their prices were better than my good LFS. There was another place I went to, but it was hard to get to. It was very near NCSU campus. I can't remeber the name of it, but the selection was a bit sparse.

I find phone books most helpful when on the road for work. I've been to dozens of places in several cities in the past couple of months. One thing I did find out was that my best LFS is really a joke.

Thanks, for the replies. I have checked the phone book(s) this are is really weird. There are to many towns that think they are big enough to be their own entity, so you have to search through 3-4 phone books to find anything. If you are lucky enough to get all of the phone books.
