Cool

Let's Talk Fairy Wrasses!

Okay, I've read up on them a bit, and they seem to be a great choice, reef safe, active colorful...possibly a bit shy though. The lfs is getting 3 scott's fairy wrasses in on saturday and i think I'm gonna pick one up. Right now the only inhabitant of a 55g tank with lots of lr, ls and some mushrooms is a medium sized yellow tang. Does adding a fairy wrasse sound like a good idea to you guys? The tang's been alone in the tank for almost 4 months, so i'm a bit worried about agression issues, I'm really not sure how the tang will react to company...any suggestions? Also, I'd like to hear some different techniques as far as acclimating a new fish. Thanks all...

Get a male and female if you can. They make great aquarium dwellers and will maintain their coloration if you have a pair.

They can also be jumpers so make sure you protect for that.

The wrasse will live in a different part of the tank (the rock work) than the tang so I think they will be ok.
