Leather toadstool ok??


Hi guys hope yall dont think Im posting to much but i need your help again since im still learning,I bought this toadstool today
and as you can see he has a bad spot on him which I didnt notice in the store,he opened right away in my tank which suprised me,will he be ok? I hope he is not dieing,what could have caused this bad spot with no polyps? Casey

I wouldn't worry about it but I would monitor it. Leathers usually won't open at all if there's something wrong.

Keep an eye out...but that is the nice thing about leathers...you could just cut the top off if it did become necrotic. Give it some time though. It'll probably come out like normal soon.

Looks like a spot where detritus stayed for too long. That is one thing to watch out for with them.

If you dont already have one get the reef its own turkey baster for chores like sweeping toads and live rock detritous. Getting it in the water column gives critters and skimmer a chance at getting it
