leaky CSS
my skimmer is leaking... water is pushing up around the red dial and running down... any idea how to fix that? I'm not real impressed with water dripping where it shouldn't.

Haven't heard of that happening before. Loverotties is probably right, it's like a leaky o-ring or something. I'm not sure how you would be able to get to it though, I don't think that the red knob is removable.

shoot, does someone know how to contact the company? This was an ebay purchase, not a store purchase... it's only been in use 2 months, was stored and then fired up again... skimming is great but that leak, it did this ever since I first used it so it's a manufacturing defect.

Any time! I knew I had the number at home but thought that I could probably download the manual online. It was on the last page.

bah... they have a 1 year warrenty and my purchase date was nov 3, 2005... they wouldn't even try to help me out, to work with me on a 5 day difference and I wasn't real impressed. They said they'd sell me a new one, oh I'm sure they would, to which I replied that if they won't even try to work with me on this that I wouldn't be buying another skimmer from that company.
Well I did email a guy there tho so we'll see what he says... it sucks cuz I've run it a max of 3 months total in this year.

Does your red knob work? Maybe something is stuck in there. You could try to take out the skimmer, remove the little part that connects the flexible tubing to the post that has the red knob and clean it with a brush or at least swish some water in there and see if it helps.

the black elbow coming off the return on the skimmer just after the red knob isnt glued in. take that off and look in there, my guess is theres something in there blocking flow, causing water to find other ways out. if not look and see if theres anything that doesnt look right, it very well may be an o-ring or something

Thanks, I'll try to pull that off. It's skimming great, great flow coming out, but I'll check anyways, cuz if there is an o-ring we'll just replace it. Thanks!
