Lawnmower Blennies

Do these guys actually eat hair algae or is that just a myth. Just about everybody that I have talked to says I know a guy that knew a guy etc.... that had one who did.

Everything I have read says they will munch on rocks and eat film type algae and will graze on hair algae as well.

Just wondering what you folks think. Thanks

they defiantly eat algae ..when its going on the glass i can see where he has been munching on it ....never seen him eat hair algae but i only have to 2 or 3 lil patches that never really grew

they really eat what ever eat what ever is in the tank ...and algae for snacks ....i think

I might have to give one a shot then. Worst thing that can happen is I will have a little lookout on my rocks and I remember the one I had a long time ago was very entertaining to watch lol. The one I had before did not make it too long cause I was a complete noob where now I am just a noob.

It is also my understanding that they are 50/50 when it comes to eating hair algae. Some will and others won't. Once again it is a matter of you pay your money and take your chances.

I think I will take some hair algae with me to the store and wait to see if he eats it. I am sure they wont mind a little in the display tank. lol
