Killing Zenia

I have Pulsatting Zenia and I'm getting tired of fragging it all the time.Just wondering the best way to keep it under control.I was thinking to inject it with concentrated calcium.Does anybody know if this works and what do you do to get rid of it!If I cut it it grows back fast.

I think You may want to make some money and sell them on E-Bay. Let the buyer pay for overnight shipping.

Just cut it, and throw the part you don't want in the trash?

Kalk will kill it. I accidentally dumped about 4 gallons of saturated Kalk (don't ask, sometimes we do stupid things) into an export tank full of Xenia, it totally wiped it out, even with an almost immediate change of SW in that system. I have killer individual specimens that ended up taking root in the display by using a baster injector (like they use for injecting the basting fluids into turkeys for frying) filled with kalk paste diluted to the consistency of thin toothpaste. It works like a charm. Prolly works with Joe's Juice as well, which I have to believe is kalk made into a paste with some fish oil or fish stock (maybe juice from a can of tuna...) This also works for Anemonea cf. majano

If your tank is not continuously fed, Peppermint Shrimp will eat them occasionally, but it usually requires that they are not being fed by any other source.

i have had good luck peeling and scraping them off the rocks. have to make sure that you get it all, but i've been successful. get an old pocket knife you don't mind dulling and cut the rock out from underneath the xenia. just like fragging zoas, the goal is to remove a thin piece of rock (which is really easy with porous rock) immediately under the critter.

i'd be afraid of nuking them in an established tank, as the xenia meltdown might be a little harsh on the other tank inhabitants. if that is the way you want to go, put them in a rubbermaid and do it.

I'm one that cannot get it to grow. Either I have a slow growing species, or it just doesn't like me.
