Hey guys,
I think the answer is YES, are all the Kenya trees on this LR dead?
I picked up the rock yesterday with my new mantis. When I took it out of the bucket they were all slouched over and some were split at the roots. I didn't see them in the previous owners tank - he was nice enough to pack it up for me so it was ready to go when I got there. The tank has been going strong with snails and other softies so the tank is good. However, most of the micro brittles jumped out of the rock (~8 of them) and they are barely alive as well.
I know, in the past, when I have purchased Kenya it has taken 2-5 days to perk up, but in this case the kenya tree's are shedding like the maple trees onto my sand. Since I've never seen a shed.. i'm guessing they may be done for. At this point, since there are about 12+ kenya trees on this rock I want to minimize the ammonia spike in the 15g tank and remove them if they are dead. Any way of telling for sure?
Thanks guys!
