Kenya Tree?
is that the same as a colt coral.
I picked up a small frag the size of my pinky.
It alreay has 3-4 branches and polyps that open.

depends on what the seller wants to call it ! but they are not from the same family . kenya is from the genus capnella , family asterospiculariidae ,and most common "colt" corals are in the family ,alcyoniidae with the genus being alcyonium .
a pic would give us a better i.d.

Mine regularly drops branches! If you glue them on to a small piece of rubble they will turn into a whole new coral - fragging for the really lazy! Here is a photo...

I had a Colt in the center of my tank. what a peice man. HUGE...had it for 2 years grew quick! had to be a foot and a half by a foot and a half. then it died and I have not been able to have a colt since.... got me why.... I have bought 6 more since and each one died within two weeks

i have a bunch of places here on the island...but only trust a few of them.
If i see something that catches my eye...I buy, b/c I've learned you may never see it again.
Haven't even looked at anywhere in CT...but it doesn't seem like there are a lot of places.

definately fewer then starbucks in the city, but a few good ones. One in brewster, Stamford and Greenwich. That is about it that I have found

LIsound - trying to guesstimate the current size - I would say about 8-10 inches. The 'leaves' fold up and in at night and he shrinks to prob about 6 inches or so. The colour scheme is fairly brown when fully extended (I think unlike the colts which are white?), but I am very fond of him and the waving of the 'leaves' in the 'breeze'.....

My kenia tree got sucked through a maxijet pump one day  , now I have 30,000 kenia trees growing everywhere in my softie tank
