Kent Phos reactor as a calcium reactor?

Im looking into buying a kent phos reactor for running carbon, phos ban ect.
Can I add calcium reactor media and will it actually do something?

I don't know a lot about them myself, but the CO2 is what helps dissolve the media releasing it into the column. Without it I doubt you will be doing much of anything. I would take a guess and say an aragonite sandbed will do more than a reactor w/o CO2....

There are lot's of threads on DIY reactors if you're looking for a cheap way to get a reactor.

you can convert the phos reactor into a Ca reactor fairly easily, but you would still need the bubble counter CO2 tank and regulator. in other words, the real expensive bits are always needed regardless of how little you paid for the reactor.
