Kent Garlic Extreme -vs- SeaChem Garlic Guard

When battling an ICH problem......What's the difference between Kent's Garlic Extreme -vs- SeaChem's GarlicGuard?

I can only find SeaChem's GarlicGuard in LFS's around me and wondering:
1) if I can put 5ml of SeaChem GarlicGuard straight into the tank a day or
2) is it ONLY meant for soaking with food ???

**3) if I put straight shots of GarlicGuard in....will my two SuperSkimmers just skim it right OUT....giving me NO benefit?
