Keeping sand white.
I'd like to know what you guys to to keep your sand white. I ask because mine is turning green. It looks like coralline. I have a ton of hermits, ceriths, nassarius and a fighting conch. I am reluctant to get a sand sifting star because it would contantly harrass my Plate coral.

is this green a top layer on the sand?? There is a form of cyano bacteria that comes in a green form.

My dragon (or banded) goby keeps my sand very clean. A VERY good sand sifter and completely reef safe. The only problem is he does a little bit of his own "landscaping," has a burrow under one of my large LR. A great fish IMO.

It isn't cyano. I at least know that much. It looks like green coralline encrusting each individual sand grain. I should just get of my lazy patchukas and stir the sand up myself.

ditto on the bullet goby
not a very attractive fish but he keeps the sand snow white. he covers the corals tho, but they shake it off, then he covers them again
what he lacks in looks he gains in personality, this fish is hesterical.
he waits for his seawead salad just staring at the veggie clip. when i open the package he gets all excited, sometimes ill wave the seawead and he shakes his head
